“East and West Coast residents fly over the Midwest and some of them look down on us. They call this flyover country and call us flyover people. They think there’s nothing worthwhile in the middle of the country, in Kansas. I write this column to prove otherwise.” Cheryl Unruh
This book is about the Kansas experience: wind, long horizons, clouds, storms. It’s about life in a small town, a childhood in a community of 400 people in the center of Kansas.

I am the office manager the Council on Aging in Leavenworth, KS. We are having a Senior Citizens Picnic honoring senior citizens on May 13th. The month of May is Older Americans Month and to honor our seniors we host a picnic. This year’s theme is proud to be a Kansan. This year’s special guest is Joel Nichols, Channel 9 News. Would you be willing to donate a book and some bumper stickers? We expect about 250 seniors attending this event. Thank you.

Scarlet, the book is on its way.
If I order two books, can they be shipped together? If so, would that reduce the price a little? I would love to give this book to another native Kansan transplanted to Illinois soil somewhat reluctantly (at least, some of the time) but still connected by heartstrings to the state of Kansas. I’m also a KSTC (then) graduate, so Emporia continues to have a special place in my heart.
